About Nilaad
Nilaad is a data, platform, analytics and AI consulting firm for scale-ups and mid-market companies. Our consultants work from Europe and Asia.
The name
Nilaad joins the names of our founder's two children. One means moon and the other means sun. Our mark is a disc rising over a horizon. On a light ground it is the sun, on a dark one the moon, and every page here opens with one and closes with the other.
Why we exist
Our view is that data work fails at adoption far more often than at technology. A platform can be well built and still change nothing, because the foundations under it were skipped or nobody was asked to use it. Nilaad exists to fix the foundations and then scale what works.

Solaiyappan Shanmugam
Founder and directorSolaiyappan has worked for more than 12 years as a data and product leader in startups and large technology companies. He has built data products across the chain: platforms, BI and analytics tools, customer data platforms and experimentation platforms. He has set data strategy, run GDPR and data governance programs, designed data literacy programs and standardized metrics across organizations.
His work includes data platform strategy at a European consumer fintech, an experimentation and personalization platform at an Indian consumer fintech and a data mesh strategy for a global automotive manufacturer.
